It's Quite for a few minutes when...

The boys are sleeping!

It's really a rare occasion, but the boys do finally get tired and they fall asleep. I love sleeping pictures!!! I don't know why, they are just my favorite. So here is a few, enjoy!
Dax had been swimming all day, he came and curled up on my chair and was out like a light.
How precious... this is the reason to have stuffed animals! All children should sleep with stuffed animals.
Even sweet Brett falls asleep when someone isn't jumping on him.
Isaac and Dax LOVE sleeping in my bed when Brett is out of town. It makes it a little squishy, but I love having them there next to me. I got a kick out of them sleeping in practically the same position!
Where is Dax? He's under there... sleeping under all those blankets.
Isaac is a hard one to get to sleep. He is like me, he LOVES to sleep in. But going to sleep is a different story. It takes him a while to actually fall asleep.
And then there is Tanner... I laughed so hard when I found him all crazy in his swing. His neck looked so uncomfortable!
Naps are usually only for a short time...and before you know it, they are awake again.

The World through my Children's Eyes

As I was unloading all the pictures from my camera I had several that were weird. I had dozens of floor and shoe pictures.... and realized Dax and Isaac had been playing with my camera. The more I looked through these pictures I realized how fun it was to see the world through my children's eyes. So here's a peek at what they see...
This one actually has some really great pictures! Brett had been out of town and I had been on a walk with the boys. We sat outside playing on the grass and they took pictures of Tanner and I playing and Isaac with the "looser" sign on his head... cause he's such a character!
My favorite pictures here are of the neighborhood... mostly because it looks so big when you are down so low to the ground. I also love the one of Tanner's feet and Daxton's shoes... one boot, one crock. Whatever works son... at least you have shoes on your feet. The one of my modeling Daxton's blanket made me laugh! I forgot one day he wanted to take my picture next to his lamb picture he made. He wanted me to pose, like I'm sure I make him do all the time... so he gave me his blanket to lay across my shoulder.
Then there is the "bum" picture. I probably had a million pictures of Isaac's bum! No kidding. I do remember that day, they were laughing so hard at taking pictures of Isaac wiggling his bum. These two are crazy. If you look at the buzz light year picture you can see Daxton's toes in the picture. I love those toes. That's such a precious picture. Oh course they got a picture of Rosco, me eating...and another favorite, Isaac's dirty underwear. I'm sure they were cracking up when they took that!

"Curb" Your Enthusiasum!!

Brett got crazy this year and decided this was the year... he wanted curbing! He had big plans. He wanted a garden because of how many vegetables we eat. Him and the boys went to work pulling up grass.

There was a lot of grass!!! So much the boys felt on top of the world when they climbed it! It took a lot of truck/car loads to get rid of it.
But all the hard work paid off...
And now we have beautiful curbing!!!
Brett, my manly man that he is... also bought some redwood and make a couple of grow boxes!! They look so good. (He's even got quite a few of the neighbor girls crawling around checking out his hand work. Hands off ladies, he's all mine!) He found a little website and mapped out his garden. He's really just so darling when he tells me about his plans.
And by my crazy request he even put in a sandbox for the boys!! It's bigger and filled with hours of playing time!! (And for me I get hours of cleaning time when they bring the sand from outside, in!) Oh well, your only young once. Brett actually taught them to spray off in the hose (which can become a screaming match when one boy decides to "spray" off the other one.) Then I make them strip in the garage if they are too sandy. Isaac does not care for that. "YOU WANT ALL THE NEIGHBORS TO SEE MY UNDERWEAR MOM!??" Yes son. for the sake of my floors. Yes I do. Don't worry, I'm not that mean, I close the garage door.
They did a good job breaking in their new sandbox with their friend Trevan. What can I say? Boys do well with dirt!
Don't worry Feathers, one day you will be out playing in the dirt with the big boys too!

My Three Sons

My mom used to watch the show, "My Three Sons." I honestly can say I don't think I have seen an episode. But who would have ever thought I'd be raising "three sons!" Not me. I have to take a minute to brag about my 3 little monkeys. They are so darling. They say funny things all the time and make us smile.  Brett always wanted a football team and if you ask me, we have a pretty great start. They are a lot of work, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Brett and I are so lucky to be their parents. Here are some of my favorite pictures of the three of them together.
Isaac pretty much smiles when I ask him too, he's always been great like that. Tanner... well he's a baby and will smile if I'm lucky. If you look at Dax his expression is different in everyone one of these pictures. It's so him! He's such a character.

This last picture might be my favorite!

Rub a Dub Dub... 3 Men in a Tub!
I had to document their first bath together!!! Your welcome boys, you might thank me one day.
Isaac is so good with Tanner. He really has grown up and is such a great helper.
Look at the picture with Tanner's mouth dropped wide open... is that not the cutest smiling face?!
The boys have the best dad... he finds creative ways to get them to bed. Super Dax seemed appropriate since he was wearing his Superman PJ's. Isaac's getting a little heavy, but Brett still manages to fly him through the air as well!
Here's my three boys, in bed, reading a book.
Love you boys.  Goodnight.

My Boys Photoshoot!!! 2012

I borrowed my friend Tania's camera to take some photo's of my kids. I originally was trying to get pictures of them for a suprise for Brett. I had good intentions of recoloring them for Christmas and making this square wall hanging. I was over budget and this little project got put on hold. Maybe one day! Anyways, I still love the way the pictures turned out, so of course I had to blog about it!!! Enjoy them. I have. I took about a bazillion pictures but these are some of my favorites. These boys really know how to shine when the camera is on. They are silly, funny, and just darling.
Tanner was really not sure about the photo shoot. It was bright outside. And he had his first encounter with grass. I'm surprised he didn't cry. I don't think he loved it, but he was a good sport!
I love the three boys together. They are just so silly. I'm lucky to have them. As crazy as these 3 little boys make me, I'm so dang lucky to have them. I'm honored to be their mamma!
Have you ever tried taking a picture of a dog? It's hard. Not gonna lie! But I got a couple good ones.
It was pretty fun chasing after these kiddos snapping pictures all around the yard. I'm sure it provided great entertainment for whatever neighbors happened to be watching!

The Butterflies!

For Easter, I had mentioned Grandma Nancy had given the boys Butterflies. We took our sweet time in ordering them. Finally we did it! It was very educational and the boys loved showing them off to their friends.
The little bugs came in the mail. We didn't have to do much with them yet but watch them eat their self silly and turn into really GIANT caterpillars. I mean, GIANT, long, stretch guys. It freaked me out a bit.
Then when they were ready they climbed to the top of their jars and turned themselves into chrysalises.
We waited for a week or so while they "changed." They once again freaked me out again because if they ever felt like they were in danger, they would start to shake! And shake! and shake!!! It was crazy to watch. I just walked away when they did that!
And then we stuck them into our butterfly pavilion. I had this image of beautiful butterflies fluttering around! They shook even more if they were spooked!
They weren't really the "beautiful" things I had anticipated. They looked like giant moths with orange wings. But the boys loved them. They fed them watermelon. Which, why am I so freaked out to give a butterfly watermelon? I just didn't want to let them escape in the house!
Isaac was just pleased and showed everyone that came over.
There was like 7 butterflies flying around. They were pretty cool.
Minus the blood that nobody mentions... it gets strung up and down the cage from when they break free of their chrysalis. Yuck!!! I must be too much of a girly girl... I couldn't imagine getting snakes or lizards in our house... I could barley stomach these little butterflies!
The time came to let them free...
Be free little ones!!!!!!! The boys were so excited as they flew out! They went fast, it was very exciting!!! They still look for them around the house. Dax loves when he sees "his butterflies."
