Sports...Sports...and more Sports!

At the start of Summer Soccer started. In the middle Coach Pitch started. We have been outside a lot watching games and practices.... which I must say is pure dedication for a mom who's pregnant in her 3rd trimester!!! But it is worth it to see Isaac score so many goals!

Brett taught him how to "cherry pick" which Isaac found if he stayed back a little, he could get the ball and score!

Trev and Jake were both on his team, as usual!

And so was his friend Zach from school. 

Half way through the Summer Isaac played Coach Pitch with Trevan and Jake. We had to get permission from Lehi city to moved them up a grade, but it was so worth it!

I was a little nervous that they would be playing with kids a year older then they were, but you couldn't even tell. They were better then a lot of them. T-ball was not exciting to them anymore and they had so much fun in Coach Pitch. Brett was a gem and coached his team.

They had a lot of fun and was excited to get their metal at the end of it all!

They had 10 kids on their team, but because it was in the Summer they were lacking a lot of them!

All Star Isaac Playing Fall Soccer

We finished Soccer and Isaac seriously did awesome! One game he even scored 4 goals. He's fast and determined. I love that he loves sports. As he grows, I love that he has to wear his BYU shirt like his dad on game day. Or he likes to sit on the couch next to Brett and "watch" the game. 

I love that he has so many little friends and that they always end up being on a team together. We've hung all of his little medals, flags and pictures on his wall in his room. It's so cute!

Going for the Goal!

Saturday was the start of a new Soccer season. Isaac has been so excited to play soccer again. I almost dropped the ball and forgot to register him. At the mercy of the registration office and a late fee, I got him signed up. He is on a team with two of his buddies, Trevan and Jake down the street.  The field was pretty long for these little guys to run, some of them looked red as tomatoes! When there was a time out in the game, Trevan and Isaac practiced their secret handshakes and rocks explosions on the field. It made me laugh. Then it was game time. The played, they ran, they stopped during the game to get a drink of water... that is the most important part, to stay hydrated right?! I could see Coach Tim (Trevan's dad) kindly shouting at the kids to stop drinking and chase the ball. 

And then it happened, the moment Isaac had hoped for when we left the house. He got site of the ball and he went for it, running, kicking, running kicking, blocking the kids around him.

 He swopped around by the goal, got around the goalie who was watching him get ready to score, and then...

HE SCORED!!!!!!!!!! 

And the crowed goes wild! (Well as wild as a small mom and pop crowd can be!) He was beaming from ear to ear! I was so proud of him. Thats what he wanted to do and he did it. He played so great during his game. It was different from last year when he would stare and the clouds and the grass. He was really into the game.

After that it was his turn to be goalie. He did great! He blocked every ball that came his way.

We are so proud of you Isaac! Keep up the good work! And congratulations on your first goal during your first game! Even after all that running and his face was bright red from being in the hot sun, he still wanted to come home and play soccer with his dad.

And what did Dax do during the game? Yup. He put a cone on his head. It was his hat. Good job buddy! Way to cheer on your brother!

Last T-ball Game!

Isaac's last game of T-ball went great! Black magic (his special bat) didn't disappoint. He hit the ball so hard it flew clear into the outfield skimming over all the boys heads. We were so proud of him!

 He's the cutest 1st baseman I've even seen!

The season was a bit rough on Dax. It's hot and he can't play. We tried to bring his little tee, that worked for a while. One of the moms brought us cookies for coaching and Dax devoured half of them. He was happy as a clam munching on these pumpkin chocolate cookies. Of course, sugar is the secret to getting him to hold still!

We did the parent tunnel every time. The kids love running through! 

Chalei is the best and always brings donuts and gatorade to the final game! The kids got their metals. They were bigger this year, Isaac was so excited!

All Ball 2011

At the first of March, Isaac and his friend Trevan played "All Ball" together from the Lehi Legacy Center.  It was 6 days long.  Each day they played and learned about a new sport.

 The sports they learned were: Soccer, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, and Baseball. 

Isaac really loved flag football. He liked running to pull off someone's flag. He loved basketball and baseball. They did a good job setting up stations to practice where to throw a ball, which bases to run around first, and a hitting station where they could hit the ball from a rope as hard as they wanted.

The last day they played a few of the sports again and played with a big parachute. While all the kids were hiding under a parachute, Dax ran out and took full advantage of the sports equipment! He loves any kind of ball!

 The boys got a certificate.

 And they met Lenny the Lion.

They were on Team Batman... which is like the coolest team ever! 

Soccer Mom!

Well, it's happened. I'm officially a Soccer Mom.

We signed Isaac up for fall soccer and he has had a good time chasing and swarming around the ball with the other 11 kids on the field. It's kind of a long time in the hot sun. Occasionally, Isaac would loose interest and be gazing at the scenery around him. But earlier this month he got really into the game and actually scored his first goal!!! He was so excited!!!! We were very proud of him. That's what he has wanted to do since he started playing. 

 He had a great coach, Coach Bateman. He was really relaxed and was so great with the kids. I really appreciate the dads that let the kids have fun. We came across one team that the coach was a bit scary for my taste. But now it's time to say goodbye to Soccer and maybe we can actually take a break from sports... for maybe a month at least! I mean, I love sports, but every Saturday since Summer began? Ya, I could use a break from the hot sun... yes, I said hot Sun... in OCTOBER!

Isaac loves getting metals. It makes him so happy!

He had some neighbor kids on his team. Of course, Trevan. But we also had Jake (who lives down the street as Isaac calls him), Noah, and Asher. It was a fun little team.

Last Batter Up!

Last Saturday, T-Ball came to a close as "last batter" was yelled and all the kids ran around the bases to home plate. At the end of every game they joined together, with their little hands in a huddle and cheered for the other team.

At the end of every game, the parents would form a "parent tunnel" for our little Tigers to run through... making them feel very special and excited to run through! 

To make it life EVEN better, they were congratulated on a job well done and recieved a shiney baseball medal that when you moved it, the baseball would move all around. It was pretty cool and all the kids loved it. Not to mention, one of the moms brought them all donuts and Gatorade... they were in heaven!

Isaac has loved his medal and has worn it everyday, showing it to everyone he sees! (He really wanted to wear it to church the next day, but I got him to leave it home.) Good Job Isaac! You played so great!

T-Ball Tigers!

The sport of the summer this year is T-Ball! Isaac has been so excited. There are 10 little boys on his team. They are the orange team, The Tigers. All of them were pretty excited about getting a shirt and hat. I have to say, he makes a very cute baseball player!

I think his coach is pretty cute too! It's his dad. Brett has always wanted to coach Isaac and now that he's old enough, he got his chance. It's a lot work, especially because most of them don't know what they are doing yet... but overtime hopefully that will get better!

There are a few boys on the team that call Brett, "coach!" And I know it makes him smile cause it is really too cute to hear.

Last Day of Soccer

On the last day of soccer the kids got to play some games like duck, duck goose, and hiding under the parachute... always a big hit with kids!

Recently Isaac found Brett's old trophies and he thinks they are the coolest things ever! So, Brett gave his soccer trophy to Isaac... He was thrilled to say the least! He carried it with him everywhere he went showing everyone is "troph" as he likes to call it. 

He enjoyed soccer this year... but 6 days of it was plenty for a 3 year old. He got pretty tried of having to be there at 9 am. (He's not much of a morning person... he takes after his mom.) Maybe next year we will try Itty Bitty Football!
