Maybe He'll Be a Thumb-Sucker!

At 24 weeks I had a second ultrasound to make sure the babies measurements were accurate and everything looked alright, they were! My cute little boy is exactly in the 50th percentile and growing how he should. They have changed my due date once, making me worry I would have this baby on Halloween. Now it has been put back on November 5th. While we were there, he popped his thumb in his mouth and sucked on it for a while. It was so cute! You could see his little mouth moving and see his little tiny fingers. (I'm hoping that's a good sign that he will be a good eater like his brother!) I think ultrasound pictures are always a little hard to see, but here is my baby boy sucking his thumb!

After he got tired of that, he decided to be a little more active so he flipped his legs over his head! To help you see it a bit better, on the left, they labeled where his legs and face were... right on top of each other! He's been very active lately and can kick me pretty good!

Isaac talks about "his baby" constantly. He is always thinking of ways he will help with the baby (like filling up a bottle with water - because the baby can't have applesauce quite yet!), what he can teach him (like how to roll over), and what the baby will say (ga-ga). He has so many ideas in his head of him and the baby, I can't wait to see them together. Isaac always wants to know when the baby is kicking, and if he is, he will talk to his brother and tell him to be nice to his mommy! If he accidently smashes my stomach, he quickly kisses it better and says, "sorry baby!" I know he will be a great big brother!

The summer is HOT and I've been good at using my AC. Some days I think I just might melt. Other then my feet bothering me from swelling and no arch support, I'm doing pretty good. We still haven't decided on a name yet. People ask Isaac all the time what the babies name will be and he responds with one of the many we have told him. I still like Oakley, but Brett isn't sure it sounds like it could be a "grown-up" name. We both love the name Daxton and we like that we haven't heard anyone with that name. Well, on Sunday a new family moved into the ward and you wouldn't believe what their sons name was... yup, Daxton! Brett and I were shocked! We just stared at each other. I know, many people have the same name. We were just surprised that the one name we both finally liked and agreed on was the name of the little boy who just moved in.

We have 3 months left and it seems forever away, but it also seems so close! I am anxious to buy warmer baby clothes and I have found a few... but the stores haven't put a lot out. So instead I've taken advantage of the sales on summer clothes and bought my baby boy a few darling outfits for next year!

Isaac is getting practice being a big brother. We had Adie over the other day and as much as she loved him, he adored her! He was so attentive to her and got her anything she needed. After asking my permission, he gave himself the "binkie job." He took it upon himself to take out her binkie when she didn't need it and to give it back to her when he thought she wanted it.

He loved watching her eat in a highchair and helped hand her food. If she dropped her bottle, he would jump down and pick it up for her. If she flipped it the wrong way and the bottle dripped, Isaac would help her turn it around. But my favorite is how patient he was with her. She would grab his hair and pull so hard, but Isaac didn't care. He giggled and let her pull. After a while he would take her hands and loosen the grip and get her interested in something else. I was very impressed!

He really wanted to hold her, but Adie is getting a bit to big to hold... especially because she wiggles. So instead he realized he could help her walk. He did pretty good considering he's short and she's wobbly! I know I've said it before, but all of this makes me so excited to see Isaac as a big brother. I know he will love our little baby boy!
