Brett leaves for work pretty early these days and he knew Isaac wouldn't want to wait all day to open his presents. He gave me permission to let Isaac open them throughout the day as long as I sent pictures. Isaac bounced right out of bed and got ready for the day. He found 3 large presents waiting for him to open. He let Dax help. That was so nice of him. Inside he found a helmet (a much needed for my dangerous son!), elbow, knee and wrist guards, and ROLLER BLADES!!!! He has wanted them and was so excited! He does pretty good on them too. He amazes me how fast he picks up on all sports. His balance is amazing.
He spent the morning playing with his brother, inside, outside, racing up and down the hall - Isaac on roller blades, Dax on his bike. It was too cute. We went to school and showed a little "all about Isaac" slideshow to the class. He wanted to give them gum suckers and amazingly enough... the Kindergarteners were thrilled with that! He got a crown and a pinwheel from his teacher. (He has been wanting that pinwheel for a while now.)
When he got home he had one more present. I wanted Brett to be there but Brett told him to go ahead. I had stayed up planning out a treasure hunt for Isaac. He had a treasure map he had to follow and find all the pirate circles to place on top. He ran from place to place until it lead him downstairs to an unexpected (and newly wanted might I add) present. Golf Clubs!!!! Golf. Who knew? Brett has always wanted to play golf, he said maybe in his older age when he had time and money. That's before he managed to buy a brand new set of golf clubs off KSL for $25 dollars. It was a steal! Our neighbor Bob has been so thrilled cause now he has a buddy to golf with. Well, Isaac fell in the love with the sport. He goes with Brett to the driving range often. They hit balls in our backyard and Rosco retrieves them. (Though they can't figure out how to make him stop breaking them with his teeth!) Anyways, every time Isaac went to the range someone would comment to him how he needed his own kid clubs. Ah! Well, now he has them folks!
A funny side story about Isaac... Brett took him golfing one day along with Bob and Jake (Isaac's little friend.) They each had their own cart and on the 9th hole (where it is right next to the clubhouse where all the workers are) Brett had parked at the top of the hill and got out to hit his ball. Just as he went to swing he heard a noise. He looked back and there goes Isaac cruising down the hill driving the golf cart! Brett threw his club, Bob looked up cause all he could hear was Brett's feet running, stomping, chasing after our son driving the golf cart. (He had been asking Brett all day if he could drive and Brett had been telling him "no!" Apparently, he found a way and got his chance the little stinker! Brett was yelling, "ISAAC! HIT THE BREAK!!!!" Calmly, Isaac moved his foot and pressed on the break. Brett said Isaac wasn't scared, he had a big old smile on his face the whole time!!! Never again son... wait till your older!
That night we went with our friends, Bob and Natalie and their kids Jake and Taylor out to dinner for Isaac's birthday. He chose Wingers. He wanted a giant birthday pie slice. It was big, with sprinkles, filled with ice cream...and it was all his! He was lovin' it! Happy Birthday Isaac!!! We love you so much!
