Easter Weekend 2009!

The day before Easter our Easter festivities began! We went to Brett's parents house and celebrated with the kids. Isaac, (aka bucket-head) fell asleep on the way to the party. He was playing peek-a-boo with me and soon forgot to "boo!"

After he woke up, we had the kids color easter eggs. This was Isaac's first experience doing this! Looking at the picture with him and the green egg, he wasn't too sure what it was all about. I'm not sure if he was still sleepy or confused at "why" we were doing this!

He soon figured it out and got in the spirit of coloring eggs!

Nice blue egg!

We even tried  to be clever and make one with a stripe! (Ok, it was Grandma Nancy who was clever and we copied her!)

We decided to hurry outside for a very wet easter egg hunt! The rain wasn't letting up anytime soon, so we decided to hunt in "less rain" versus "more!" The kids didn't seem to mind. They all ran around like the crazies they are and found their color of egg. This year was really fun because Isaac really understands the concept of finding "his" egg.

He was so thrilled when he would spot a blue egg, he would run like crazy to get it!

If the egg was in the muddy dirt, he would have an adult help him get it... still, he was so happy to hold it in his little hand!

I can't even explain his little squeal when he found one, he's so cute!

Here's all the cousins after the Easter Egg Hunt. All the adults were standing in the rain trying to snap a picture (surprising we didn't ruin are cameras) while the kids were under a tiny edge of the house, trying not to get wet!

Isaac, Lu-Lu, Buddy, and Squiggle
(And no, I've been asked before... that isn't their real names, just their internet names!)

With the help of Brett and me Isaac found the "golden egg" up in the top of a tree. He loves getting coins!

Grandma Nancy gave each of the kids a little Easter present.  Isaac got a bubble gun. He thought it was so cool and loves that it has a holster to put the gun in. After we have had a few messes with the bubbles at our house, I've deemed it as a play gun. He's fine with that and rides his horse "chief" and shoots all the bad guys. Here's a quick picture of later that night....

Isaac got Brett's shades, his hat, horse and gun and went after the "bad guys!"

It was a really fun day and to add to the celebration fun, it was my sister-in-laws Birthday!

So, Happy Birthday Emilee! We love you!

Really, did you need to include a pic of me w/my rain-drenched hair blowing--blowing? Really?!

We all loved the egg hunt, you're right--the kids didn't mind the rain at all.
