Family Fun!

Every month Brett's family gets together and we have a group Family Home Evening. This month we waited until the day after Christmas so Brandon and Shaylah could be with us, so we decided to make a day out of it! In the morning we went to the temple and did sealing's. The man who married Brett and I was the sealer of our session!!! I was so excited. It reminded me of getting married all over again! It was very fun.

My cousin Andrea had this fun and EASY idea of how to make a gingerbread house with the little kids. So, we did that! You take a fishy box  or one that looks like it and you build your house around it. It worked beautifully and the houses didn't fall in!

This is Isaac's first time building a gingerbread house. He was much more interested when it got to the part of sticking candy all over it. Before that he was more interested in licking his frosting off of his pop-cycle stick. Buddy and Lulu did a great job on their houses. Lulu made a TALL house she was very proud of! Squiggle didn't stick around for long and Breah's mommy made her house. Breah managed to take care of herself though... she came out with a GIANT unwrapped candy bar that day!! She seemed leery that we would let her hold such a giant, delicious chocolate that she knew she shouldn't have. We couldn't stop laughing and took pictures instead of taking it away!

Dad and Isaac played in grandma's backyard for a while. Isaac enjoyed shoveling as usual..
.
and being pulled around in the sled!

L to R: Rob, Buddy, Emilee, Squiggle, Lulu, Ashley, Baby Jesus Doll, Brett, Isaac, Shaylah and her sheep, Breah, and Brandon

That night we had dinner and family home evening. LaMonte read the Christmas Story from the Bible while we all participated and acted it out. (There are only 5 grandkids.) Isaac was the STAR! He flapped his arms up and down - he was shining bright! Grandma Neilsen was also with us. It was really nice to be together again!

I love all your collages, but what kind of parent lets their 1 yr old run around with a giant symphony bar? Oh wait, I guess I'm the slacker mom. OH well. We sure had fun hanging out with you guys over Christmas. Wish we could do it more often! I think it's your turn to come here! Hope you have a happy new year! Love ya!

I love all your collages you made on Mac. The elf hat is hilarious on the snow picture! Isaac looks like Santa's happy little elf. Plus what a great idea to make the gingerbread houses on a carton! Very cute!
